In my life, I have met many interesting people, but none as special as my pen pal, Emma. She lives far away in Australia, and we’ve been writing letters to each other for over two years now. Although we’ve never met face-to-face, it feels like she’s always been a part of my life.
Emma and I share many things in common. We both love reading books, especially mystery novels. Every time she sends me her latest favorite book, I can’t wait to dive into its pages. Sometimes, we even discuss the mysteries together, trying to guess who the culprit is before we reach the end. It’s like solving puzzles with a friend across the ocean!
Another thing we bond over is our passion for music. Emma plays the guitar, while I enjoy singing. Through our letters, we exchange song recommendations and talk about how different songs make us feel. She once sent me a video of herself playing an acoustic version of one of my favorite songs, and it was so touching that I cried when I first watched it.
Of course, there are also differences between us. For instance, Emma loves surfing and often talks about the beautiful beaches near her home. I, on the other hand, am more of an indoor person, preferring cozy nights with a good book or movie. But these differences only make our friendship more exciting because they give us something new to learn from each other.
Even though we live thousands of miles apart, Emma has become one of my closest friends. Our letters bring color to my days, and I look forward to receiving them just as much as she does. I hope someday we’ll get the chance to meet in person and continue our friendship beyond the pages of our letters.
Until then, I will keep writing to her, sharing stories, dreams, and laughter. After all, true friendships know no boundaries, not even the vastness of the sea that separates us.
