Hey Tom, it’s been ages! How have you been?
汤姆:I know, right? It feels like forever. I’ve been good, though. Busy with work, but managing to keep my head above water.
艾米丽:That’s great to hear. Work has been keeping me on my toes too. But enough about work—how’s your family? How’s your mom doing?
汤姆:Oh, she’s doing well. She started a new hobby recently—painting! Can you believe it? She’s really into it and even sold one of her paintings at a local art fair.
艾米丽:Wow, that’s amazing! Your mom always had such a creative side. I remember when we were kids, she used to draw the most beautiful flowers for us.
汤姆:Yeah, those were some of the best days. Speaking of which, how’s your mom? Still baking up a storm in the kitchen?
艾米丽:(laughs) Oh, absolutely! Last weekend, she made this incredible lemon cake. It was so good that I ended up eating half of it myself.
汤姆:Sounds dangerous! You need someone to keep you in check, or you’ll turn into a lemon cake yourself!
两人相视而笑,气氛轻松愉快。窗外的阳光洒进来,为他们的友谊增添了一抹温暖的色彩。
艾米丽:Anyway, enough about our moms. What do you want to do this weekend? Any exciting plans?
汤姆:Not yet, but I was thinking maybe we could go hiking or something. Clear the mind a bit. What do you say?
艾米丽:I’d love that! Fresh air and exercise always sound like a great idea. Let’s plan it soon.
汤姆:Definitely. We’ll make it happen. Thanks for catching up today—it was just what I needed.
艾米丽:Same here. See you around, Tom.
汤姆:See you soon, Emily.
两人挥手告别,各自走向不同的方向,但心中都感到满足与温暖。
