The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. It usually comes in January or February. This year, it was on February 10th. I was very excited because I could have a long holiday and spend time with my family.

On the eve of the Spring Festival, my family cleaned our house and decorated it with red paper cuts and lanterns. Red is the color of happiness and good luck. We also put up a big couplet on the door. My parents cooked a lot of delicious food, such as dumplings, fish, and rice cakes. I helped my mom cook and I learned how to make dumplings.

At night, we watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV. It had many wonderful performances, including singing, dancing, and magic shows. After that, we set off fireworks and firecrackers. The sky was full of colorful lights and sounds. It was so beautiful and exciting.

On the first day of the new year, I wore new clothes and visited my grandparents. They gave me red envelopes with money inside. I was very happy. We ate jiaozi together and wished each other a happy new year.

The Spring Festival is a time for family, happiness, and tradition. I love this festival because it brings people together and makes me feel warm and safe.
